Miranda Bayard-Clark, LPC

Therapeutic Approach

Making the decision to see a counselor can be an intimidating, and overwhelming process.  I will work with you on a level that meets your needs and comforts.  Finding the right therapist is 90% of it, so it is vital that you feel comfortable working with me, and I you, in order to get the full benefit of therapy.  I will support you in finding balance in your life while helping you meet and get to know your authentic self.

During our first session, I will briefly talk with you about who I am as a therapist, some of my background and experience, and how I work with clients.  Then, we will talk more about what brought you in, and what your hopes and expectations are during our time together.  Finally, I will share with you some ideas of how we can work together to reach your goals.

Individual therapy

I also see a number of individual clients who are working through life transitions, anxiety, relationship patterns and grief/loss.  Many of them have come to work through a life event or just come to have a space to process.  Clients have stated they enjoy my humorous yet direct approach.

Marriage Therapy & Couples Counseling

Often times, we find ourselves in the same argument over and over, which creates a pattern in our relationship that can be hard to break.

Whether you are starting a new relationship, or have been in one for years, there can be several challenges along the way.  From everyday challenges of communication to life changes of adding a baby to the family, I have supported couples uncover emotions, learn tools to understand each other, better communicate, and create a more sustainable friendship and intimate relationship.

About Me

I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from Lewis & Clark College.  My focus in my studies was working with both Adults and Children, and also trained to work with Couples.  I have completed Level 2 training in the Gottman Method couples therapy.  I also incorporate and have training in Emotion-Focused Couples therapy techniques.

I currently hold a license through the state of Oregon: Licensed Professional Counselor:  #C4122 and abide by its Code of Ethics.

I understand how social injustices affect each of us in a number of different ways.
